Odran Reid
ICI Board Member
Odran is a lecture in economics, planning and local development in the Dublin Institute of Technology. He is a professional economist and spatial planner. Odran has extensive experience in the pubic, private and NGO sectors having worked with the Greater London Council, the Inner London Education Authority, The Institute of International and European Affairs, Northside Partnership, two members of the European Parliament, before becoming the the first CEO of NorDubCo as well as establishing his own consultancy firm specialising in planning and corporate governance.
As well as being Chairperson of Northside Counselling Service, Odran is a director and Company Secretary of Northside Homecare Service, and has held many previous directorships in NGO’s and State bodies including the Garda Síochána Complaints Board and Irish Water Safety. He is currently a member of the Planning and Property Development Strategic Policy Committee (SPC) in Dublin City Council and the Economics and Enterprise SPC in Fingal County Council. He is a member of the QQI Appeals Panel and is secretary of the Irish Branch of the Institute of Economic Development.
Odran is an economics graduate of Trinity College Dublin and a masters graduate in Spatial Planning from the Technological University, Dublin (TU Dublin). He is a founder member and secretary of the Spatial Planning Graduate Network and is a Corporate member of the Irish Planning Institute and of the Institute of Economic Development. He is Chairperson of the Spatial Planning MSc Programme in the School of Transport Engineering, Environment and Planning in TU Dublin and has lectured in Beijing on Irish planning as part of a joint programme run by TU Dublin and the Gengdan Institute of Beijing University of Technology. He is a member of the ICLRD Panel of Exports and is on the mentoring panel of DNWAP.
